Gibson Receives Arafat Endorsement

AllahPundit is of course already over this one, but I just have to mention it here for posterity:

Arafat declares Gibson 'Passion of Christ' flick as not anti-semitic.

Really, where do you start?

Spanish Morons

Which is not to say that all Spaniards are morons. Just the ones that painted this swastika backwards. The leftist idiotarians can't even get their hate speech right! Duh.

Hubble Not Worth The Risk

Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, Democrat Dim Bulb Senator from Maryland, says "The future of the Hubble should not be decided by one man in a NASA back room without a transparent process."

You want an transparent process, lady? How about this.

In response to the CAIB report, NASA decided that non-ISS missions aren't worth the risk, and to the best of my knowledge they have all been scrapped. Maybe she didn't get the memo.

Update:
I've been searching for an hour through the CAIB report to find chapter and verse on this, but so far nothing. Still, since Administrator O'Keefe threw this all back into the lap of the former CAIB Chairman, I'm fairly confident that I'm in the right.

'Forceful Nonviolent Intervention'

Just taking a little LILEKS and running with it...

What is 'forceful nonviolence' anyway? Anyone want to define that for me?

Do economic sanctions qualify as 'forceful nonviolent intervention?'
You know, the kind we used against Iraq that proved to be so completely ineffective? No wait, I seem to remember a bunch of leftist protestors yammering about 30,000 deaths caused every month by the horrid effects of the economic sanctions. Guess that can't be 'forceful nonviolent intervention', now can it?

Or how about the Clinton Administrations policy towards North Korea,
where we all played the chumps and gave oil and food to a dictator, while he used it to feed his army and fuel his nuclear research program. Meanwhile his people continued to starve and die at the re-education camps. Nope, guess that doesn't qualify either.

Gee, could it be that 'forceful nonviolent intervention' is another one of those Leftist code phrases which means "Do Nothing To Protect Western Civilization Until It Is To Late To Save It From The Barbarian Hordes?"

Yup.

Discover Sucks

Vera was right, Discover Card sucks!

You see, I've got some CashBack coming to me and I decided to use the so-called "Double" feature. Purportedly, you can get "up to double your award amount ... from our Cashback Bonus Partners," according to Discover's web site.

This is only like the dozenth time that I've chosen to Double my CashBack award, but this time it was different: None of the vendors I chose were actually offering a double award amount! Bed Bath & Beyond, Borders, Foot Locker... all were offering only 125%, or a $25 giftcard for cashing in $20 worth of CashBack bonus. It peeved me to the point where I actually went and counted them all. Of the 32 vendors available, only 19 of them were offering at least double, with the rest (over 40%) offering considerably less than double.

Kind of makes you wonder about the meaning of the word 'double', doesn't it?

Of course, even more annoying: some of the vendors were actually offering way more than double! Hyatt Hotels for example, were offering double double, that is to say Quadruple! ($80 for $20.) Of course, I had always ignored Hyatt previously, not knowing what a great deal they were offering.

What piffle. Discover Card, shame on you for not "telling it like it is" on your web site! Hey, can anyone say Class Action?

Dawn Olsen In The Cave

So Dawn Olsen has decided that Mel Gibson is nothing but a Jew Baiter. Her insightful opinion comes after NOT seeing his film, The Passion of the Christ, but instead reading some movie reviews.

Sgt. Stryker has, in my opinion, one of the more interesting takes on the film:

When Yoda instructs Luke to enter the Cave, Skywalker asks, "What's in there?" Yoda replies, "Only what you take with you." What you bring into the theater will largely determine how you view this film.
Unfortunately for Dawn, I think it's pretty clear what she would bring into the Cave:
    More on Sociopathic Assholes:
I hate violent criminals. Nothing interesting about that, I imagine most law-abiding folks do, but I don't just hate them in an abstract way, I hate them with a fiery passion. I want to strangle them with my bare hands and watch them die slowly and most especially, painfully.

I spend a vast amount of my personal time simmering in this rage as I think about child abductors, murderers, pederasts and their ilk. I wish for an instant karmic release that would allow me to transport myself to the guilty party where me and my friends; matches, gasoline, spiked brassknuckles and duct tape, could have a good old fashioned "encounter".

Mr. Gibson made a movie about a Man who suffered and died for us all; meanwhile Dawn Olsen day dreams about being an executioner.
