(No Kidding. This is a real screen capture from my workstation running Netscape. Well, I added the arrow, of course. Also the window frame. The screen grabber dropped it for some reason.)

Ugh! The stench of humans, how it vexes me!

New Kitten, ever since you joined this team you've made one bad decision after another. Plus you seem incapable of taking responsibility for your mistakes. George, Carolyn, I've made my decision. I'm sorry, New Kitten, but YOU'RE FIRED!
The administration at CSU is celebrating their victory in court. And well they should, since it seems clear that the Peoplesoft roll-out was a complete disaster. Indeed, the 4.25 million dollar settlement may be only a fraction of the true cost of the boondoggle.
But it appears that they have learned nothing from the process! The article closes with the following:
Schwartz also said that CSU was encouraged by its dealings with Oracle and will work with the company on a shared services project that would combine "backroom" operations for several Northeast Ohio colleges and universities.CSU, the University of Akron and Kent State University are working on the project, which would include unified business and data processing operations. Schwartz said other schools could become part of the collaboration.
Question: If your own requirements were so complex that it took five years and a lawsuit to fix them, what makes you think combining the requirements of three schools together is going to simplify the situation?
Hello McFly!
Personally, I suspect that the administration at CSU is being sold down the 'shared services' river. This is a simple trick for luring in the dupes who think they understand how the game is played. You see, you aren't just buying a system to manage your own needs, oh no, you are investing in a system so powerful that it can be used to manage your own needs plus those of a couple other Universities. And the kicker is, you get to charge these other schools a hefty service fee for using your system. Thus, when you sign this big contract for another twenty million dollar software system, it's not really a cost at all, but an investment that will quickly pay for itself!
Yeah right. And the check's in the mail.
Well I finally got around to upgrading Moveable Type to the latest release. And there was great rejoicing!
